Wrapping up yr 2011

It's been many mths since I've last blogged.

Updates on cookie:

I've put her on diy raw diet (prey model style) for 1 mth plus. Can say she's doing quite ok on it.. Her poo is more lesser than on commercial barf.

Give her raw meaty bone on a weekly basis. Tried chicken drumstick and wings. Personally I prefer drumsticks compare to wings.

I've oso decide not to bring her for yearly vaccine and not to put her on any ticks/fleas/heartworm prevention. Never put, doesn't mean I dun take precaution. I just choose a more natural way i.e thru EO spray.

Overall 2011 is quite ok for cookie.. The only major changes is she's spayed! And I'm glad she remain pretty much her usual self.. She even slimed down. From 5.3kg to now 4.4-4.5kg :) Though 5.3kg is still within acceptable range but I prefer her to be lighter :)

BUT 2011 for me will be rather emotional! Cos my Sis gonna close lucky Chinatown outlet! Damn the stupid management for increasing the rental! So my sis decide to shut down for the meantime... Maybe after cny, if the economy more better will search for another location ba...

Feel very 不舍得 but I know this decision is the best le.. Cos the business is not as gd as before.. LC is a place with many fond memories.. Memories of HIM, memories of the ex staffs, memories of how we start out from beginnings, memories of how scare n nervous I feel when I first look after the shop, how shy I am when I talked to customers, how I changes over the years.. From a naive gal to now ME! LC indeed have a very special place in my heart! We have close afew shops before, but nv once I feel this way.. 1week to go before I say gd bye forever :(

Updates

Brought cookie for her annual vaccination on 11 may. Also do a heartworm and tick fever test for her.. Both results are negative!
Her weight drop from 5.15kg to 4.80kg... Vet say is gd.. Cos usually after spaying will put on weight n easily become fat.. Luckily her weight didn't increase..

She's on primal diet for 1 month plus already.. So fat so gd.. Though she got abit of yeast infection on her ears n paws.. Maybe due to her previous HCF diet.. Then now on a barf diet, so as a form of detoxing..from her groomer advice, I bought a bottle of azmira yeast n fungal detox supplement to be added to her meals.. Hopefully will see some results...

Sent her some daycare @ enhancek9 on 18 may. Was alittle worried that she might not get used to it. Cos its the first time going to daycare and cookie is abit anti social to other dogs.
But surprisingly w/o me around, she's willing to play with them :)
At least I can have peace when I send her for boarding on 16 June.

Maybe in another 6months time will bring her for another heartworm test and full bloodtest.. Since I don't intend to feed her any heartworm prevention medication.. It's better to bring her for test every 6month..

Cookie's heat rash came back again. Though this time round is not as serious as last yr. But I still feel very heart pain. Friend advise me to apply aloe gel on the wound to speed up the healing, so went to get a bottle of aloe gel during lunch time. Decided to try out on my pimples first, it really did make my pimple smaller n not so red. So now I'm sharing the aloe gel with her :)

Keeping a dog is really not an easy job nowadays..Though I've less money to pamper myself, less time to meet up with friends, less social life etc..but I've never regret having her in my life =)

I'm glad that my family members oso truly dote on her too.. And they oso finally accept the facts that cookie is really very important to me.. Cos she have already stolen my heart away the time when we first lay our eyes on each other :) I love u baby :)

This is the only love that I dare say is forever :)

I've finally ordered primal raw food for baby.. Trying out with venison meat first.. Will be arriving today evening time..

So I will start feeding her 2 nugget for breakfast n dinner will be her HCF.. Wanna gradually switch over to fully primal in a weeks time.. But hopefully she will love her new food..

Can't wait for wed.. Cos she's very smelly now!! Nv bath for going to 2weeks.. As after spaying can't bath for 14days.. So to play safe, I'll wait till wed den bath her :)

I'll be going to the sparks reunion at club avatar on 1st may!! It's been a long long time since ive last club.. Hopefully it's fun!!
Will update abt the event n also how cookie's reaction to her new food...

Very long didnt update..so will be quite a long post...

Cookie have finally done her spaying !! She was supposed to be due for her spaying on 6th April.. But she accidentally ate a small pcs of tissue.. Thus gotta postpone to 11th April..

But I'm thankful to her for eating that pcs of tissue.. Cos I've got time to read more on which method I wanna choose..

Most vet only done it the traditional method (OVH) which is removal of both the uterus n ovaries. But the vet I went to offer 2 methods.. The traditional way (OVH) or a "new" way (OVE) which remove only the ovaries...

The "new" way is mostly done in the European countries.. It's lesser risk n less tramatic for the dogs.. N require only minimum incision.

But both end results is the same..

Thus I choose OVE method.

Overall I'm very happy with the whole surgery. Cookie woke up very fast, recovering well.. Though it's more costly than the other vets I've enquired from..

Total cost more than 500. Cos I choose the best medicine n oso did a simple bloodtest too.. But as long as cookie is safe n health, I don't mind paying.

I'm changing her diet to primal raw food soon.. Either end of April or early may.. Really hope she will love the new diet and don't have any serious detox phrase.. Cos some dogs when change to a raw diet will undergo some detox phrase( diarrhea, rashes outbreak, bad breath, excessive tearing etc).. So hopefully cookie won't undergo this type of phrase...

I'm oso sending her to try out enhanceK9 daycare service during may.. Cos I'm going to board her during June holiday for 2days while I join my family go chalet.. So wanna let her get use to the environment first..

And I plan to bring her go dollhouse pets for basic grooming n coat treatment.. N maybe end of may send her go for another round of coat treatment again...

After her spaying, just wanna dote n pamper her as much as possible(within my limits)..

It's gonna be a great month for me n cookie baby :)

Just brought her for a full grooming last wed.. She look so puppyish in her new cut.. I like it!! Maybe will keep her coat short for the time being..

While waiting for her to groom, I went for a full body massage.. Very nice n relaxing.. Will surely go there for massage when I bring baby for grooming =)

2nd anniversary

Today marks the 2nd anniversary of my baby n me =)

Time flies without us realizing it. Still can remember her first day at my house.. So timid yet curious at the same time.. She got this blur look that attracted me till now.. At first, my parents wanted her to slp in the kitchen area.. But now, I move out to slo in the living room with her!!

Some ppl may say that she's ugly , smelly etc. But to me, she's the most adorable baby! No words can describe how much I love her =) I feel so lucky to have her! Though sometimes she really make me very angry..

Anyway will be bringing her for grooming this wed.. Gonna cut even shorter this time.. Cos after spaying cant bathe for 10-14days I think.. So shorter coat easier to maintain..

Oh ya.. After feeding her oil/Acv, her coat colour appear more darker.. Which is a gd thing :)

Been quite awhile since I last blogged! Cos I'm getting more n more lazy..
Anyway I've booked an appt for spaying cookie! Will be in another 12days time.. Looking forward n oso worry at the same time.. But hopefully everything will go smoothly n baby will recover fast!

Will have a pay increment this month, but still dunno increase how much.. Hopefully another $200.. So I can provide a better life for baby! Cos I wanna change her diet to barf, so monthly food cost abt $150.. But keep my finger crossed! Cos my baby is such a fussy eater... Still I hope she will eat her food.. Cos raw diet is definitely a better choice for her..

Anyway I've start adding organic coconut oil n Acv to her daily breakfast.. Cos Acv can help to repel ticks n fleas.. N I heard that it can help with tearing problems too.. Her tearing problem is 1 of my headaches.. Cos with this problem, her face is always smelly.. Hopefully Acv will help to reduce/cure this problem..

Anyway I may be going to Bkk on may for a 2d1n trip.. Main purpose is to go there n pray.. N hopefully will be able to buy something for baby =)

And I'm oso planning to send cookie go day care and play after her spaying.. So in case if June I really wanna go chalet, I can put her for boarding n she won't be afraid..

Bought a few books online. It's my first time buying though.. Very prompt in their delivery. It's abt pets diet and 1 book abt massaging for dogs.. That is really outta my league.. I don't even know how and where to start.. Maybe when I'm more free then will try out.

But the book on pets diet is quite informative. After reading, I decided to add EFAs to cookie's diet.. Cos it's one of the important things in her diet.. It's will give her better skin n coat =) so I went to GWC organic supermarket to get a bottle of extra virgin coconut oil..

Coconut oil have many health benefits for human and dogs.. If u wanna know more, can go google n see what's the benefits.. Cos I'm lazy to type out..

N I oso collected a bottle of herbal multi vitamins from 1 of the forum member. And it's bot available in sg.. So try out for now, if it's gd will buy online n import in..

Oso bought a small bottle of paraben n SLS free shampoo to try out..

Verdict: it's quite gd.. Leaving cookie's fur soft.. N her scratching reduced, though she still scratch here n there..

But there r still afew other brand of shampoo I'm quite interested to try it out on cookie.. All n made from natural ingredients n organic =)

N I'm more n more worried as cookie's spaying date getting nearer n nearer...

Brought cookie to furry pets cafe on Friday.. Food was quite ok but I still prefer k9 kafe at turf city...
Initially I wanted to buy her a new carrier online..Lucky I went to take a look first, when I tried to put her in, she look kind of uncomfortable.

Anyway I just buy some books/novels online. First time buying.. Cos usually I buy from Kinokuniya.. Can't wait to receive the parcel =)

I'm still thinking of whether wanna change cookie shampoo anot.. Cos I'm very tempted to get her the dogpoo shampoo.. but most probably I will go and take a look first.. Cos for a 473ml bottle, it cost $40 already..

Arghh!!! how I wish I've got more money!!!

Bought a small bottle of EOs blend for cookie. This blend can be added to jojoba oil and use for massaging her. It can repel fleas/ticks mosquito etc. I've been considering using EOs for very long already. Cos I'm scare it will cause allergy to her, thus bought a small bottle to try out. Will be going to collect on Friday morning.

I'm going to bring cookie out this Friday afternoon too. Cos my kitchen Reno starts on that day and it's going to be very noisy n dusty! So it's gd to bring her out.

Was clearing my emails last night and I came across cookie's puppy photos.. The ones that captured my heart 2yrs ago =)

Cos as u all know, cookie is adopted from my bro in law's friend. And I din even noe how she look like when I tell my Sis that I wanna adopted.. There's a big quarrels between my family and me. Because they r very against me having a dog, due to there's too much kids at home. But after Viewing her photos, I really fell in love with her. Till now, I'm still very much in love with her and she have captured hearts of my family member whom was so against her at the beginning :)

Nv blogged for a very long time...

Updates of my baby cookie

I've cut short her coat already.. Very happy with her new look =)
She look just like a puppy now..
Actually one of the reason I cut short her coat is cos I wanna bring her to spay on march.. But she got the false pregnancy symptom so gotta wait for another 2mth.. So will bring her to spay early April.. And I decided to feed her barf after her surgery..
Heard that dogs on barf diet are more healthy =) but it's gonna burn a big hole in my pocket =(

And I oso wanna buy supplement to feed her too.. So gonna read up more before feeding in case I fees too much supplement...

This Will be my 2nd Cny I spend with cookie =) actually I dun intend to buy any apparels for her... But due to the cold weather nowadays, I bought her 2dresses.. Will be going to collect Tmr =) hopefully the size will be able to fit her..

I'm so looking forward to her 3rd birthday this coming October =) although it's still a long way to go... Cos I decided to get her that present, that's the reason y I'm so excited =) hehe...
